Sugary and Sweet...

(My "Camote Cue"...)

Finally decided to try to cook some "camote cue" (sugared and fried sweet potatoes) from the sweet potatoes I got from our small garden in the farm...

This was my first time to cook some...thankfully it turned out perfect and so yummy...it's really so easy to prepare just fry them and add some brown sugar and just make sure the brown sugar sticks to the sweet potato slices...

Once it's cook and done, then all you have to do is eat and enjoy...

Costume Returns...

Like almost everybody else, we do love to dress up for a particular occasion...sometimes, we have to go to a lot of shops and boutiques to find the perfect outfit and the most appropriate costume we can find...sometimes, we even create and design our own costumes...but a lot of us would just rent and borrow too...

Whatever it is, we all know that most costumes are only suitable for a specific event or occasion that is why some people have accumulated costumes collection...the sad thing is that some of them are not even worn...well, you could probably wear it next time in the next years to come...or you can just give them away even if it's really a waste of your money...

The good news is, you can actually return a costume now...as long as you haven't opened them; you haven't worn them; and that they are still in their original packaging, the store will actually take it back...but you have to take note that they won't take back Special Ordered Items like Mascots, Props that require special delivery , Partial Party Kits, and Disposable Helium Tanks...and of course, they won't accept Any item that has been worn, used or altered!...

Strike While The Iron Is Hot?...

Ok,now that this blog finally got a Google PR of 2, I should be using this to my advantage...I SHOULD be taking more blogging opps because I'm now qualified to take more...

I know I SHOULD but I didn't...I don't know why...knowing that this PR thing can be a very short-term love affair between them and this blog, I know I should be taking advantage of it and should be grabbing more opps...like what they always say, strike while the iron is hot...

Oh, well, maybe I will try to do just that...maybe...just maybe...because I have other important things to do beside blogging and grabbing some opps...

Philippine Roadside Finds...

In the Philippines, especially in the provinces, you can sell almost anything you want right in front of your house, in the roadside as long as you're not obstructing the flow of traffic...
Below are photos of little roadside nurseries selling different kinds of plants like bonsai, flowering plants, shrubs and small trees and even different kinds of cactus plants in small pots...

These pics were taken by yours truly in one of my trips from Baguio City to Manila and back...

It's one of the many things I miss way back home...roadside scenery here in the US are so different from the Philippines...

Just a glimpse of these pics brought a smile to my face...but it made me miss Philippines and my family more also...(sigh...) I'm seriously having a "homesickness" attack...please bear with me...

***Store unused pesticides in sealed containers and place them in freeze-protected locations.

***Turn the compost pile.

***Test your soil and begin adding needed amendments once the results are in.

***Mulch tender perennials that might be damaged by frost later in the winter.

Golden Sweet Cornbread Recipe...

(Golden Cornbread-Sweet Version)

I have posted in my SassyChick's World blog a slightly sweeter version of the golden cornbread that we found online and we tried and that we liked...

Here's another version that we have tried cooking lately and it turned out very, very good for me because it is really a sweet version of the golden cornbread and I like sweet foods...

So I will share this recipe also: (I found this recipe online but I lost the original link to it...)

INGREDIENTS:

*1 cup all-purpose flour
*1 cup yellow cornmeal
*2/3 cup white sugar
*1 teaspoon salt
*3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
*1 egg
*1 cup milk
*1/3 cup vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease a 9 inch round cake pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk, and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.

ENJOY!!!

Just Wanna Say; Thanks Mr. G!!!

I can't hardly believe what I saw...I have a PR!!! it showed in the toolbar PR 2...but I didn't want to have my hopes high and get excited above it...so the first thing I did was check it in 3 different Google PR Checker...after that, I finally believe what I'm seeing in my toolbar...I have a PR of 2 for this blog; Anna's Alabama...

Later on when I did a little blog hopping, I saw that quite a few of my Blogger friends got PR's too...WOW!!! so happy for this...
